The High Museum of Art in Atlanta will be hosting an exclusive exhibit featuring the work of Brooklyn based artist Brian Donnelly, who is better known to most as KAWS.
The exhibition will begin February 18, 2012 and will feature numerous signature murals and sculptures from KAWS, including Companion (2010) which is set to be installed as soon as next month (November 18, 2011 on the museum’s piazza). Other pieces scheduled to be displayed will include a 22-foot-high, site-specific mural painted in the Margaretta Taylor Lobby of the High’s Wieland Pavilion, along with a 24-foot-long triptych hung in the Museum’s Robinson Atrium.
In addition, a gallery installation of paintings, drawings and sculpture will feature a grid of 27 tondo paintings, each 40 inches in diameter. Visitors in early February will also have the chance to see KAWS create an exclusive mural for the museum itself before their very eyes.
The exhibit will run until May 27, 2012.
