Converse is certainly doing its’ fair share of collaborations right now. Last week, we told you about how John Varvatos had redesigned the classic Converse Chuck Taylor in order to create the “Double Zip” Chuck Taylors, which featured a couple of zippers on the iconic sneakers. And, it looks like that’s not the only Converse collabo going down right now. In addition to those sneakers, Convese also teamed up with New Era recently to create the Chuck Taylor All Star Hi “New Era” sneaker. And, while it’s not wildly different than the original Chuck Taylors like the “Double Zips” are, the “New Era” does look like it’ll be a must-have sneaker for fans of both of the brands.
As you can see from the photo of the “New Era,” the sneaker is available in a high-top design (as if you couldn’t tell from the name of it) that features a navy wool upper, a white sole, white laces, and the New Era logo splashed across the back of the heel. The sole also features a navy blue stripe that seems to reflect the classic design that New Era injects into many of their hats. It’s a classy-looking sneaker that keeps things simple and represents both of the brands that put time and effort into making it come to life.
If you’re an avid sneakerhead, someone who collects hats, or just a big fan of New Era, then you’re probably going to want to make sure that this sneaker ends up somewhere in your collection. Currently, it’s only available through retailers like New Era Japan, though we wouldn’t be surprised to see it pop up elsewhere sometime in the near future. But, if you’re planning on rocking a navy blue New York Yankees New Era cap at all this summer, this sneaker would be the perfect compliment. So, make sure you cop it.
