In the wake of their second straight untimely exit from the playoffs after winning it all in 2010, fans and critics alike are left to wonder, what’s next for the Los Angeles Lakers? Obviously, in the wake of Phil Jackson and with more recent changes and departures, the storied franchise is in for quite a bit of change. Here’s a list of things the Lakers may want or need to do to get themselves back into the Finals.

1. Fire Mitch Kupchak

Sorry, Mitch, but you’ve gotta go. After a league-rescinded trade for Chris Paul, you also managed to let Lamar Odom get away just because he got all in his feelings. Furthermore, the Lakers haven’t had a reliable bench in years and it’s your job to make those types of moves. In many ways, this season’s end has been a result of your mistakes. With players (Bynum, namely) skipping meetings with you, it’s clear that you’ve lost your influence on the team.
