To our surprise, Nike has announced the second installment of the AF1 Year of the Dragon.
This pair will feature more colors than the first black and white Nike AF1 Low – ‘Year Of The Dragon’ which was released back in January. A dragon boat is served as the primary inspiration for this shoe because 2012 is known as the “Year of the Water Dragon”. The upper features bright blue leather, red suede with embossed scale pattern and a golden swoosh. The entire shoe sits atop a white midsole and a translucent outsole which resembles a blue lake that the dragon boat is sitting on.
Other attributes on the shoe include a multi-colored cloud pattern on the cushion, the character for “dragon” in ancient oracle bone script on the heel tab, pearl lace dubrets with Roman numeral “XXX”, and the premium aglets. These will come with an extra set of red laces as well.
They are scheduled to release on June 23rd, meeting the date of this year’s dragon boat festival and the retail price set at $200.
